This is a Private Select barrel pick of Maker's Mark, selected by The Bourbon Enthusiast group for their Winter Pick release. Maker's Mark Private Select starts with the brand's signature wheated bourbon, then finishes it with a custom combination of ten seared French oak staves inserted into the barrel, a technique unique to the Private Select program. That extra wood contact adds layers of caramel, vanilla, and spice on top of the base wheated bourbon's usual softness. Expect a nose of oak and caramel, a smooth, complex palate balancing sweetness and spice, and a warm, full finish. As a single barrel selection, expect some variation from other Private Select picks.
