Brother's Bond Straight Bourbon is the flagship from the brand founded by Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, and this half-size bottle is the sensible way to meet it — enough for a few pours without committing the shelf space. It is a straight bourbon matured in new charred oak and built toward approachability rather than proof-chasing. The nose is vanilla, caramel and a little orchard fruit; the palate brings brown sugar, cinnamon and toasted grain over a soft, rounded body; the finish is medium and sweet with light oak behind it. Pour it neat, over a large cube, or into an old fashioned that will not need much sugar.
