About this bottle
Johnny Fever is a straight bourbon from Burnt Church Distillery in Bluffton, South Carolina, built on a four-grain mash and released in small batches. Four grains means a second flavouring grain working alongside the usual corn and malted barley, which broadens the middle of the whiskey instead of pushing it hard toward sweet or spicy. The nose is caramel corn, vanilla and a little orchard fruit; the palate brings brown sugar, cinnamon and toasted oak over a soft, grainy body; the finish is warm, dry and moderate. It drinks well neat, and it makes a straightforward old fashioned with nothing more than sugar and a few dashes of bitters.
