About this bottle
Camus Port Cask Finish is a Cognac from Maison Camus, one of the last family-owned Cognac houses, finished in casks that previously held Port wine after the standard aging in French oak. That Port finish adds a layer of dark berry and dried-fruit sweetness on top of Cognac's usual toasted oak and baking-spice character, giving it a richer, slightly sweeter profile than a standard VS or VSOP. Camus distills its Cognac from grapes grown primarily in the Borderies and other crus around the town of Cognac in southwestern France. This is a Cognac built for slow, after-dinner sipping, with the Port influence adding an extra layer for drinkers who already know the house style.
How to drink Camus Port Cask Finish
Pour it neat in a tulip-shaped glass after dinner, the way you would any aged Cognac — the Port finish adds enough sweetness that it works well as a dessert pour on its own. A single large ice cube is fine if you want it slightly cooler, but skip mixers entirely.
