Candela Mamajuana Single Origin 750ml

Candela Mamajuana is a bottled take on the Dominican Republic's oldest drink — a jar of tree bark, roots and herbs steeped in rum, wine and honey, traditionally kept behind the bar and topped up for years at a time. This single origin version does the steeping for you and arrives ready to pour. The nose is molasses, bark and warm baking spice; the palate is sweet but woody, with honey, clove, vanilla and a bitter herbal thread running underneath; the finish is long, resinous and warming. Serve it in a small glass at room temperature after dinner, or chilled over ice with a squeeze of lime.
