Casa Loy Reposado Tequila starts as the same 100% blue agave spirit as the brand's Blanco, produced by Tequilera de los Altos Casa Loy in the Jalisco Highlands town of Ayotlán, then rests in oak long enough to round out its edges and pick up light wood character. It stays certified additive-free, so the color and flavor come from the barrel and the agave alone. Expect a nose of cooked agave and vanilla, a palate of light caramel and oak balanced against citrus and pepper, and a smooth, warm finish. It's a step up from Blanco for anyone who wants a little barrel influence without losing the agave underneath.
