Casa Mexa Tahona 750ml
About this bottle
The tahona is a stone wheel, traditionally pulled in a circle over roasted agave to crush it, and Casa Mexa puts the method on the label. Tahona-crushed agave tends to yield a heavier, earthier spirit than the roller mills used in most modern distilleries, because more of the fibre stays in contact with the juice. The nose is cooked agave, wet stone and a hint of olive brine; the palate is thick and savoury, with roasted agave, white pepper and citrus zest; the finish is dry and long. Drink it neat in a copita, or build a margarita that can take the extra weight.
