Cask Share Collective Series CA.16.01 is an eight year old single malt drawn from one cask and bottled under a reference code, the way cask-share and independent programmes usually identify a release. At eight years the malt still leads and the oak plays a supporting role. Look for barley sugar, green orchard fruit and a light floral note on the nose, then a palate of honey, malt, vanilla and a squeeze of lemon, finishing crisp and gently spiced. Single cask releases are finite by definition — no two bottlings match. Serve it neat in a Glencairn, with water only if it needs opening.
