Caymus Vineyards Anniversary 50 year 750ml

Caymus Vineyards marked fifty years with an anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, made in the style that carried the winery from 1972 onward: ripe fruit, generous oak and no interest in austerity. The nose is cassis, blackberry and dark cherry with vanilla and toasted oak; the palate is full, layered and soft-tannined, with black fruit, mocha, dark chocolate and a sweet-edged core; the finish runs long and warm. It is a bottle built for an occasion rather than a Tuesday. Decant it an hour before serving and pour it with a dry-aged steak, or cellar it and open it later.
