About this bottle

Clase Azul Blanco Ahumado is a limited-edition joven tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested in San Luis Potosí, pit-roasted over firewood and volcanic stone before double distillation in copper stills. It's bottled unaged at 45% ABV, 90 proof, so the smoke from the roasting process comes through clean rather than getting rounded off by wood. The nose carries smoked agave, fresh-cut herbs, plum, and red apple; the palate turns toward cooked agave, lemon zest, and earthy minerality with subtle smoke running underneath; the finish is clean and crisp, with light smoke and citrus peel lingering. The bottle itself is a semi-opaque decanter styled after volcanic rock. Sip it neat in a copita to catch the smoke clearly.

How to drink Clase Azul Blanco Ahumado

Neat, in a copita, is the way to taste the fire-roasted smoke without anything softening it. It also makes an unusual, smoky Paloma if you want it mixed — the grapefruit soda plays well against the char.

What the verse says

Good to know

Questions about this bottle

What makes this tequila "ahumado" (smoked)?

The agave is pit-roasted over firewood and volcanic stone before distillation, which carries real smoke character into the unaged spirit rather than adding it artificially.

What cocktails work well with a smoked blanco like this?

A Paloma lets the citrus and grapefruit soda play well against the char, or it can be sipped neat in a copita.
