Código 1530 13 Year is an extra añejo tequila from the Código 1530 house in Amatitán, Jalisco, made from 100% highland blue agave and rested in French oak wine casks for an unusually long stretch for a tequila. The extended aging pulls it further from agave-forward blanco character and toward barrel-driven depth: dried fruit and vanilla on the nose, caramel and oak spice on the palate, with a long, warming finish that reads more like a fine brandy than a typical tequila. It suits someone who wants an after-dinner sipper rather than a mixing bottle.
