Código 1530 Reposado is aged in a combination of American whiskey and French wine barrels, from Código 1530, a brand built on a family tequila recipe dating back to 1530 and co-founded with backing from musician George Strait. The reposado aging period, between two months and a year, gives it more color and roundness than the brand's blanco. The nose carries vanilla, caramel, and cooked agave, the palate is smooth with oak spice and a touch of sweetness, and the finish is warm and rounded. Good for sipping neat or a reposado margarita.
