Codigo Honky Tonk Time Machine Anejo 750 ml

Honky Tonk Time Machine is a special-label anejo from Codigo 1530, the tequila built around French white oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Those wine casks are the through line for the whole range, and on an anejo, with the longest barrel time in the lineup, they push the spirit toward dark fruit rather than the vanilla-and-coconut route American oak usually takes. Caramel, dried cherry and toasted oak lead the nose with cooked agave still underneath. The palate is full and warm, with vanilla, dark fruit and cinnamon, and the finish is long and dry. Drink it neat in a heavy glass, or over one large cube after dinner.
