Corazon Reposado Blanton's Barrel Finish Tequila (Private Selection) 750ml

Corazón Reposado from the Expresiones series is a blue Weber agave tequila made at Casa San Matías in Jalisco and rested in barrels shipped down from Buffalo Trace, in this case casks that previously held Blanton's bourbon. It is a real collaboration rather than a finishing gimmick: the bourbon house sends the wood, the tequila house fills it, and the private selection label means this particular set of barrels was chosen rather than assembled. Cooked agave stays at the centre while vanilla, caramel and a dusting of bourbon spice wrap around it, closing warm and oak-dry. Pour it neat in a copita, or build an agave old fashioned.
