Del Bac Summer Release Single Malt Whiskey 750 ml

Whiskey Del Bac Summer Release is an American single malt out of Hamilton Distillers in Tucson, where the barley is malted in-house over mesquite fire, the desert stand-in for peat. Arizona heat pushes hard on a barrel, and summer bottlings usually carry that mark: more oak, more concentration, less time needed to get there. The nose gives sun-warmed grain, stone fruit and a curl of smoke; the palate turns to caramel and baked apple over dry mesquite char; the finish is clean and drying. Pour it neat, or build a smoky old fashioned and let the mesquite do the work of the bitters.
