Dictador Amber 100 month 750ml

Dictador Amber carries a 100 months age statement, which is simply eight and a bit years counted the long way, and comes from the Dictador house in Cartagena on the Colombian coast. Tropical ageing works faster and harder than temperate ageing, so a rum with this count drinks older than the number suggests, and Dictador's style has always run dry and oak-driven rather than sweetened and soft. Toffee, dried fig and warm spice fill the nose; caramel, cocoa, tobacco leaf and orange peel follow on the palate; the finish is dry and lingering. Pour it neat in a rocks glass, or build a rum old fashioned with orange oils.
