Domaine Faiveley's Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is produced from old-vine Pinot Noir grapes which has been meticulously tended for many years in the limestone hillsides of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. The wine is matured for 15-18 months in 50% new oak barrels. Concentrated and deeply colored, Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has an intense bouquet of red and black fruit, violets, and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and ripe, with lovely supple tannins, and balanced acidity, finishing with savory nuances of red fruit and herbs. This is an impressive and finely structured Burgundian red wine that will continue to improve in bottle for several years.
