About this bottle
Don Chingon Sabe a Maguey is a rum built to nod toward agave, as the name says outright, sitting somewhere between two categories that Mexico happens to make well. Rum is a cane spirit and maguey is not, so what you get is molasses sweetness carrying an unmistakably agave-shaped vegetal streak through the middle. The nose gives molasses, cooked agave and warm spice; the palate is caramel and roasted sugar with a green edge running under it; the finish stays warm and lightly earthy. It is a bottle for people who drink both categories and want the argument settled in one glass. Serve it neat, or long over ice with lime.
