Eagle Rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 12 year 750 ml

Eagle Rare 12 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, built on the distillery's low-rye mash and carrying a twelve year age statement at a time when most shelves have quietly dropped theirs. Two extra years over the ten year that made the name show up as more oak influence and a drier, more savoury back end rather than simply more sweetness. The nose is toffee, orange peel and dark cherry over oak. The palate is brown sugar, dried fruit and cocoa with tobacco leaf behind it, and the finish is long, dry and oak-led. Like everything from Buffalo Trace it moves fast when it lands. Pour it neat.
