El Dorado Cask 8 year 80

El Dorado 8 Year is a Demerara rum from Demerara Distillers in Guyana, distilled on a mix of historic wooden and metal pot and column stills the company preserved from now-closed local distilleries, giving El Dorado its distinctively rich, molasses-forward character. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) after eight years of tropical aging, it carries deep caramel and dark fruit notes that come from both the Demerara sugar-cane base and accelerated tropical maturation. Expect toffee, dried fruit and baking spice on the nose, a rich, syrupy-textured palate, and a warm, oak-driven finish. A widely respected, benchmark Demerara rum.

How to drink El Dorado 8 Year

Excellent neat or on a single rock, and rich enough to anchor a Dark and Stormy or an Old Fashioned built with rum instead of whiskey.
