El Tesoro Mundial Collection, Yamazaki Edition Añejo is a 100% agave tequila from La Alteña Distillery (NOM 1139), finished for 12 months in genuine Yamazaki 12-Year sherry and wine casks — a collaboration between El Tesoro's Carlos Camarena and Suntory's chief blender Shinji Fukuyo, and a one-time limited release. The Japanese whisky casks bring aromatic agave, minerals, oak, dried fruit and delicate florals on the nose, with toasted almond, pecan, raw honey, sherry notes and dark chocolate on the palate, finishing long with red berries, clove and pepper. A genuinely rare crossover release for both tequila and Japanese whisky collectors.

Sip it neat in a snifter — this is a one-time, cask-driven collaboration bottle, and the Yamazaki cask's sherry and oak influence is the entire reason to seek it out. Don't put this one in a Margarita.
