About this bottle
El Tesoro Añejo is a highland tequila aged two to three years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels. The Camarena family distills it at La Alteña in Arandas, where ripe agave is still crushed by tahona stone and fermented with the fiber left in. That old-school method shows through: floral jasmine and oak on the nose, sweet agave cut with black pepper across the palate, and a light green, vanilla finish. It is bottled at 80 proof from 100% Blue Weber agave with nothing added — no sweeteners, no coloring, no glycerin. This is a sipping añejo built for a neat pour or a single large cube, and it rewards anyone who wants agave character to survive the barrel rather than hide behind it.
