About this bottle
Equiano Dark blends column-distilled rum from Mauritius, aged 10 years in French Limousin oak and ex-Cognac casks, with Barbados rum aged a minimum of 8 years in ex-bourbon casks, blended and bottled by Richard Seale at Foursquare Distillery. The nose carries vanilla, light toffee, and gentle oak alongside raisin, banana, and hints of strawberry, cherry, and marmalade. On the palate it turns fruitier still, with lemon and orange peel balanced against spicy oak in the middle. The finish is soft and reasonably long. It's named for Olaudah Equiano and supports a scholarship program for descendants of the transatlantic slave trade.
