This limited-edition Erstwhile Espadín Joven is a young, unaged mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave, produced in small batches in the highlands of Oaxaca, Mexico using traditional methods — the agave cooked in a stone oven, fermented with wild ambient yeast, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. As a joven, it's bottled straight off the still without wood aging, so the smoky, earthy agave character stays front and center rather than being softened by barrel time. Expect citrus, black pepper, and smoke rather than vanilla or caramel. This limited edition suits mezcal drinkers who want the style in its rawest, most traditional form.
