Faust Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2020 1.5 L

Faust is the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the Huneeus family, the same people behind Quintessa, built from fruit grown across the valley floor and its eastern hills. This is the magnum — 1.5 litres, which is both a better format for ageing and the right bottle for a table of six. The 2020 shows cassis and black cherry on the nose with graphite and cedar behind it, a palate of dark fruit framed by firm, fine-grained tannin, and a finish of tobacco and cocoa that holds on. Decant it an hour before dinner and pour it with something off the grill.
