Fidencio Mexicano Mezcal 750 ML

Fidencio Mexicano is a single-agave Oaxacan mezcal made from agave mexicano, a semi-wild variety grown in far smaller numbers than espadin and rarely bottled on its own. Fidencio distils in Santiago Matatlan using the traditional sequence: agave hearts roasted in an earthen pit, milled, fermented in open wooden vats and distilled in copper. Mexicano usually lands somewhere fruity and floral, and this one follows suit, with ripe fruit and cooked agave on the nose, a palate of tropical fruit, green herbs and moderate smoke, and a finish that stays sweet and warm. Serve it neat at room temperature so the aromatics have somewhere to go.
