Fireball Blazin' Apple is a flavoured whisky from the Fireball family, taking the cinnamon heat the brand is built on and layering green apple over the top. Like the original, it is a whisky base with flavouring rather than a straight whiskey, and it is engineered for the shot glass and the tailgate rather than the tasting mat — nobody is looking for subtlety here and none is offered. The nose is candied apple and red-hot cinnamon; the palate is sweet apple first with the cinnamon burn building behind it; the finish is hot and sugary. Serve it cold, straight from the freezer, or drop a shot into a glass of cider.
