Flor de Caña Añejo Clásico 5 Year is a golden aged rum from the family-owned Chichigalpa distillery, matured five years in white oak barrels under the tropical heat that speeds Nicaraguan rum maturation. It sits in the middle of Flor de Caña's aged lineup, a step up from the 4 Year Extra Seco but younger than the Centenario 12 or 18 Year releases. Expect a golden amber color, a sweet aroma of vanilla, caramel, and oak, and a smooth, creamy palate carrying toasted oak and vanilla into a long, gently spiced finish. Certified Fair Trade and carbon-neutral, and controlled from cane field to bottle.
