About this bottle
Fortaleza Reposado rests six to nine months in American oak, just long enough to round the spirit without burying the agave underneath it. Every release starts the same way at Destilería La Fortaleza: agave roasted in brick ovens, crushed under a volcanic tahona stone, fermented in open wood tanks, and run twice through copper pot stills. The barrel time brings butterscotch, vanilla, and a dusting of black pepper, while the cooked-agave core from the tahona process stays out front. It's 100% Blue Weber agave with nothing added — no coloring, no oak extract, no sweetener. A reposado built for drinking neat, not for hiding in a shaker.
How to drink Fortaleza Reposado
Neat or over one large cube is the right call — the barrel sweetness and tahona-crushed agave don't need mixing. If you want a cocktail, an añejo-style Old Fashioned with a light hand on the sugar lets the butterscotch and pepper notes carry through.
