A Manhattan is a stirred drink, which means the quality sits in the proportions rather than in the technique, and a bottled version does that arithmetic ahead of time. Expect a nose of cherry, vanilla and dried herbs, a palate of caramel, red vermouth spice and orange bitters laid over a whiskey backbone, and a finish that runs sweet, then bitter, then dry.
