Freitag Negroni is a bottled take on the three-part Italian classic - gin, sweet vermouth and bitter red aperitivo - mixed and bottled at 60 proof so there is nothing left to measure. The Negroni is famously built in equal parts, and the pleasure of it comes from the fight between the gin's juniper and the bitterness of the aperitivo. Expect a nose of orange peel, juniper and rhubarb, a palate that is bittersweet and herbal with red fruit, gentian and a resinous edge running underneath, and a long dry-bitter finish. Pour it over a big cube in a rocks glass and twist an orange peel over the top.
