Full Curl Barrel Finished Series Bourbon is a straight bourbon given a second maturation in casks that previously held Scotch whisky. A finishing cask does not remake a whiskey so much as tilt it - here the ex-Scotch wood tends to pull the bourbon drier and a little smokier, trading some of the corn sweetness for cereal and earth. Expect a nose of caramel, toasted barley and a faint curl of smoke, a palate of vanilla, honeyed grain, dried fruit and oak tannin, and a finish that runs dry with a light ashy edge. Drink it neat to follow the handoff between the two casks, or over one large cube.
