G4 Tequila Blanco de Madera 750ml

G4 Blanco de Madera is a highland tequila given a short rest in oak, long enough to pick up a touch of colour and texture but short enough that it still drinks like a blanco. It comes from Destileria El Pandillo in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, where Felipe Camarena cooks agave in brick ovens, ferments slowly with a blend of rainwater and spring water, and distils in copper pots. The nose is cooked agave, citrus peel and wet earth; the palate adds light vanilla and cracked pepper over a green agave core; the finish is clean and mineral. Sip it neat, or build a margarita that needs more backbone.
