Garrison Brothers Guadalupe 127.2 Proof 750ml

Garrison Brothers Guadalupe takes Texas straight bourbon and finishes it in Portuguese port casks; this release is bottled at 127.2 proof. Everything matures on site in Hye, west of Austin, where Hill Country summers force the whiskey through the wood far harder than a Kentucky warehouse would, and the port period afterwards adds fruit rather than covering anything up. The nose is blackberry jam, cocoa and molasses; the palate is stewed dark fruit, brown sugar and heavy char; the finish is long, warming and gently tannic. It is a big pour at this strength. Drink it neat with water to taste, or over a single large cube.
