Garrison Brothers Red, White & Bourbon is a small batch Texas straight bourbon from the distillery in Hye, in the Hill Country west of Austin. Garrison Brothers matures everything on site, and Texas summers do most of the heavy lifting: the whiskey moves in and out of new charred oak far more often than it would in a cooler climate, which is why these bourbons drink darker and woodier than their age would suggest. Expect brown sugar and dark cherry on the nose, caramel, stone fruit and toasted oak across the palate, and a warm finish of pepper and leather. Neat, or in an old fashioned.
