About this bottle
Garrison Brothers Guadalupe Cask Strength is a single-barrel Texas bourbon, dual-matured four years in new American white oak and then two more in tawny port casks from Portugal. This barrel came in at 123.9 proof, undiluted. The mash is 74% corn, 15% soft red winter wheat, and 11% malted barley — a wheated bourbon, which shows in the roundness underneath the port-cask sweetness. Texas heat pushes barrel interaction hard, so a bourbon aged six years here drinks older than the number suggests. Single barrel means no two bottles taste quite the same. Start it neat and let a few drops of water open the port character.
