About this bottle
DESCRIPTION
Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Aston Martin Edition is a Speyside single malt matured entirely in American oak — a deliberate break from the sherry casks that define most of the region. It's built from a marriage of three cask types: new American oak, second-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and American oak wine casks. The result leans sweet and fruit-forward, the distillery's orchard-fruit house style pushed toward maple syrup, caramelized ginger, and a creamy, cheesecake-like body. It carries the weight of 16 years without turning heavy or hot. Released to mark the first year of the distillery's Aston Martin Formula One partnership, it's a limited edition in green race livery. Pour it neat, with a few drops of water if you want the sweetness to open up further.
TASTING NOTES
Color: Bright, polished gold.
Nose: Maple syrup and caramelized ginger over a biscuity, cheesecake-like base, with a wisp of toasted oak.
Palate: Silky and sweet — fresh fruit salad and Chantilly cream, with ginger and vanilla off the oak.
Finish: Long and smooth, gently warming, drying into clean oak.
HOW TO DRINK
Best neat — at 43% it's balanced and easy, and the all-American-oak sweetness carries the glass on its own. Add a few drops of water to loosen the ginger and vanilla. It's too characterful to bury in a cocktail, so keep this one in a glass by itself.
