Gustoso Guarapo Mexican Rum 750ml

Gustoso Guarapo is a Mexican rum made from guarapo — fresh-pressed sugarcane juice rather than molasses. That distinction does most of the work here: molasses rums lean toward toffee and dried fruit, while cane-juice rums keep a grassy, vegetal brightness that tastes much closer to the field the cane came from. Mexico has a long cane-growing history and a rum tradition that gets overlooked next to its agave spirits. The nose is green cane, citrus and a little banana; the palate is grassy and lightly sweet with white pepper and tropical fruit; the finish is clean and dry. Pour it into a daiquiri or a ti punch, or drink it neat and cool.
