Henny Berry is Hennessy's ready-to-serve take on the drink people were already making for themselves: cognac and berry, mixed and bottled so you can skip the assembly. The cognac base means there is real barrel character underneath the fruit rather than a flavoured neutral spirit, which is what separates this from most bottled cocktails on the shelf. The nose is red berries with vanilla and oak behind, the palate leads with berry fruit sitting on grape spirit and soft spice, and the finish comes off sweet-tart and clean. Pour it over plenty of ice, add a splash of soda if you want it longer, and finish with a lemon twist.
