Henny Rita swaps the tequila out of a margarita and puts cognac in its place, then bottles the result. It sounds like a stunt and drinks better than it should: the barrel sweetness in cognac lands where the agave usually sits, so the lime has something round to bounce off. The nose is lime and orange peel with oak behind it, the palate is sharp citrus over grape spirit with soft vanilla underneath, and the finish is tart, clean and warm. Shake it briefly with ice or just pour it over cubes in a salt-rimmed glass, and finish it with a fat lime wedge.
