Hugo bleu Cognac and coffee 700mL

Hugo Bleu is a coffee-led cognac liqueur: French brandy from the Charente carried into coffee, so it drinks closer to a dessert pour than a straight spirit. Roasted coffee leads the nose, with vanilla and dried fruit from the base spirit sitting underneath it. The palate is rounder and sweeter than a neat cognac, running through espresso, cocoa and a little grape brightness at the edges, and the finish carries enough roast bitterness to keep it from going syrupy. Serve it cold in a small glass after dinner, pour it over ice with an orange twist, or use it in place of coffee liqueur in an espresso martini.
