Released in 2022, Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Special Release is an American single malt whiskey finished in Oloroso sherry casks. Distilled from 100% malted barley and charcoal-mellowed in Lynchburg, it spends more than four years in new American oak before roughly two and a half years in first-fill Oloroso butts. The sherry does the heavy lifting: dried fig and dark fruit up front, then caramel, toasted oak, and malt, closing on warm baking spice. Bottled at a shifting cask-side strength rather than a fixed proof, each release runs a touch hot and rewards a splash of water. Pour it after dinner, neat, when you want something to sit with.
