This is Jameson Irish Whiskey in a limited edition bottle made for the distillery's Major League Soccer partnership — the whiskey inside is the standard blend. That blend is triple-distilled at Midleton from a mix of pot still and grain whiskey, then matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which is where its softness and its light sweetness come from. Expect vanilla, orchard fruit and a little toasted wood on the nose, a smooth palate of honey, pear and nutty spice, and a clean, short finish. Drink it neat, over ice, or long with ginger ale and a wedge of lime.
