About this bottle
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami is a limited-release blended Scotch whisky built around the fifth taste. Master blender Emma Walker developed it with Kei Kobayashi, the first Japanese chef to earn three Michelin stars in France, drawing on the rare casks — roughly one in 25,000 qualifies for Blue Label — that lean savory as well as sweet. Bottled at 43% ABV, the blend moves from baked orchard fruit and golden syrup into dried mushroom, roasted nuts, and gentle smoke, closing on a long, earthy finish. The Kei Kobayashi edition was a one-time release. The suggested serve pairs a slow sip with caviar; a quiet glass after a serious dinner works just as well.
