Joseph Cartron Gingembre (Ginger) Liqueur 700 ml

Joseph Cartron Gingembre is a ginger liqueur from the Burgundy house at Nuits-Saint-Georges, made by macerating root ginger so the spirit picks up heat as well as aroma. The nose is fresh and green, closer to peeled ginger than to gingerbread; the palate turns warmer through the middle with candied root, a little lemon lift and a peppery bite; the finish is dry and prickly rather than sweet. It brings spice to a drink without the sugar load that a ginger syrup drags along with it. Shake it with rum and lime, add it to a whisky highball, or stir a measure into hot water on a cold night.
