Koloa Gold Rum 1 L

Koloa Gold Rum comes from the Koloa Rum Company on Kauai, where the rum is made from Hawaiian sugar cane and distilled in a copper pot still in small single batches. That pot still character is the whole point — this is a fuller, rounder rum than the light column-still style that dominates the shelf. The nose brings toffee, baked banana and a little toasted coconut; the palate is soft and sweet with caramel, vanilla and warm baking spice; and the finish is clean and medium-length. Sip it over ice, or send it where a gold rum belongs: a mai tai, a dark and stormy, or a rum old fashioned.
