This special edition single malt whisky from Laphroaig distillery is a unique variation on the classic Cairdeas expression. The whisky has been matured in American ex-bourbon and Spanish ex-oloroso sherry casks before being finished in Portuguese white port and Madeira casks for a further 4 weeks. The result is a whisky with a rich, sweet aroma and notes of dried fruit, spice and smoke.

How to drink Laphroaig Cairdeas White Port and Madeira

Neat, in a tulip glass, is the way to go — the fortified-wine finish adds sweetness that a splash of water would just dilute. A once-a-year Feis Ile release, better saved for slow sipping than mixing.
