Mackmyra Bjorksav Swedish Single Malt Whiskey 700 ml

Mackmyra Björksav is a Swedish single malt from a distillery that has spent two decades making whisky on Nordic terms rather than borrowing Scottish ones. Björksav means birch sap, and the name is literal: the whisky is finished in casks that previously held Swedish birch sap wine, a local ingredient you will not find in any Highland warehouse. The nose is green apple, honey and a resinous sweetness; the palate is light and clean, with vanilla, pear, citrus and a faint woody sap note running through it; the finish is fresh, dry and short. Drink it neat at room temperature, or over one large cube on a warm evening.
