Maddalena Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml

Maddalena Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Paso Robles, the warm stretch of California's Central Coast where big daytime heat and cold night air give Cabernet both ripeness and grip. The wine is named for Maddalena Riboli, matriarch of the family that has run San Antonio Winery since the early twentieth century. Dark fruit leads here, blackberry and plum with a little cassis, and cedar and vanilla from oak sit behind it. The palate is round and generous, with tannins soft enough to drink young, and the finish carries mocha and dried herb. Open it an hour ahead and pour it with grilled steak, short ribs or aged cheddar.
