Maestro Dobel 50 is an extra anejo tequila from Maestro Dobel, the ultra-aged line built on founder Juan Domingo Beckmann's push to age tequila the way fine whiskey and cognac are aged. Extra anejo status means a minimum of three years in oak, and Dobel 50 goes further, drawing on the house's signature multi-cask aging approach for a spirit closer in weight to a rich brandy than a typical tequila. Expect dark caramel, roasted agave, vanilla, and dried fruit built up over long wood contact, with a slow, warming finish. This is a sipping bottle for someone who already likes aged agave spirits or brown spirits generally, not a margarita pour.
